about me
A little about
me...I'm a wife and mother who can't stop creating!
With the kids mostly grown I have the luxury of time to spend in my studio. I'm
primarily a quilter but also love to try other things and have been collecting
various old papers, secondhand frames, buttons and other ephemera for some time now.
I decided to combine all these elements I've gathered and came up with
miniature quilt collages.
The reason for the name "Galloping Pony Studio", is based on a quilter's theory. The galloping horse theory says if you can't see a mistake in a quilt from a galloping horse it really doesn't matter. I enjoy the character of imperfection and since I do miniatures... Galloping Pony, the studio is added because I like that word. Makes me feel like a real artist.
Currently I'm working on a few new ideas and hopefully a book with a real live publisher (I hope, I hope!) and as always, creating art. For the very latest in my little world visit my art blog. There you will find photos and thoughts about miniature quilt art.
Thanks for dropping by. And if you've tried your hand at creating a miniature quilt collage e-mail me a picture, I'd love to see it!
Best wishes,
Virginia
